With the heat and smoke of summer fading into the milder weather of fall, why not try out one of the coolest winter sports this year? Curling has been part of the Olympics since 1998, and you might have caught it on TV in February. If it looked like fun (it is!) and easy (...?), here's your chance to give it a shot yourself!

The Boise Curling Club is hosting a Learn-To-Curl event on Sunday, September 20th from 4:45pm to 6:45pm. The club's instructors will first guide you through an off-ice session for 15-20 minutes, then lead you out onto the ice for roughly 90 minutes of on-ice instruction, culminating in a short game.

The cost is $40 per person for a session. Aim to arrive by 4:45pm for the intro and safety briefing. (A later time is also available)

Double Feature!

If you're ready to get into curling more seriously, you can book the "double feature". For an additional $30, you will return for a second session eight days later on Monday, September 28th from 6:30-8:30pm. The club's instructors will work on improving the skills you first learned on September 20th. With the double feature under your belt, you'd be more than ready to sign up for our 4-week novice league that starts on October 18. (If you can't make the 28th, you are still encouraged to sign up for the novice league!)

Look for the "double feature" checkbox on the  registration form.

The fine print:

While all ages are welcome, curling stones weigh about 44 pounds and require a certain amount of weight and force to be successfully propelled down the ice. Therefore, we recommend that participants are 12 years or older. Modifications and delivery aids are available for participants with limited mobility.

Space is limited, so register now to reserve your spot! Our next Learn-To-Curl event won't be until January. Don't forget to read our cancellation policy.

To help kick off the 2026-27 season, the Boise Curling Club is hosting a mini-bonspiel on Sunday, October 4th from 5-9pm, with a BBQ beforehand from 2:30-4:30. You do not have to be a club member to participate! All signups are for individuals and teams will be formed by the bonspiel committee. Cost is only $45!

• BBQ Tailgate from 2:30-4:30
• 40 player maximum
• Three four end games. (5:00-6:20, 6:20-7:40, 7:40-9:00)
• Teams will be mixed so that no one plays with OR against any curler more than once
• Each member of a team will be awarded points for the game's result: 2 for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss
• Player(s) with the most points at the end of the night will be declared the winner(s)
